John will be out of office on Friday, August 22nd and Monday, August 25th. There will be no tech help on either of these days and no tech 101 class on Friday, August 22nd.
We have been informed that many of the elevator issues that we have been experiencing are a result of holding elevator doors open. We ask that you please do not hold the elevator doors open to help us ensure that our program can be accessible for others.
Here’s a look at the programming we have going on this month:
- On August 13th and August 27th at 1:30pm join our social worker, Syl, for Roundtable Conversations. In these social roundtables, he will lead you through light, thought-provoking conversations designed to spark reflection and build new friendships. Each session starts with a fun icebreaker, followed by a relaxed discussion around a broad topic relevant to our lives and experiences. Whether you’re a regular or new to the center, Roundtable Conversations is a space to engage, listen, and share with fellow community members you may not usually get to know. Everyone is welcome! This month’s topics will be: “Advice that you would give your 18 year old self” and “What issues do you hope to see resolved in your lifetime”
- John will teach four tech 101 classes in August.
- He will cover Internet Basics on Friday, August 1st at 10am.
- He will discuss Internet Safety on Friday, August 8th at 10am.
- On Wednesday, August 13th he will stream a special presentation at the center covering Artificial Intelligence for Seniors. Please note that this is in place of the typical Friday class and there will be NO tech 101 class Friday, August 15th.
- He will provide Internet Tips and Tricks on Friday, August 29th.
