North Seattle Senior HUB Meet and Greet

Join us June 8th at 1:00pm at the Bitter Lake Community Center for a North Seattle Senior HUB meet and Greet. This is in partnership with United Indians of All Tribes and the Wallingford Community Senior Center.

Lake City Seniors will have a table so please be sure to stop by and say hello! Hope to see you there.

Representing Lake City on the Seattle Poetic Map

Claudia Castro Luna, Seattle’s first civic poet, visited Lake City Seniors last fall to teach a workshop on poetry.  Her work culminated in a Poetic Grid of Seattle, mapping the poems of first-time poets and seasoned well-established writers.  We are excited to see that one of our participants, Sonia Izaguirre, is featured on the grid representing Lake City.  Her poem La Primera Vez (The First Time) recalls her first time in Seattle.

Visit the Seattle Poetic Grid to experience how people experience a sense of place and belonging in Seattle.
