Farewell to Shaili

To Lake City Seniors-

I can’t believe how fast time flies but my time at HIP is coming to an end. I will be leaving my role as Meal Program Coordinator on July 16th in order to move to Portland to be closer to friends and my community.

It’s been such a great pleasure cooking and serving meals for you all! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you all over the course of the year and will miss seeing everyone who comes to our meal service.

Despite it being a challenging year for so many of us, I’m so happy I got to spend it doing something I love and work with an amazing group of people, including everyone at Sound Generations, our amazing volunteers, and of course our seniors! Thanks for making my time with Lake City Seniors so special!

Farewell and lots of love,

Shaili

We Have Temporarily Moved!

Thanksgiving lunch with turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and Pumpkin bars in a to-go box.

Lake City Seniors has temporarily moved to Lamb of God Church- 12509 27th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125. The first day at this new location was Monday November 2nd. The Church is a block away from the Lake City Community Center, right across the street from Albert Davis Park. The building and property is a better option for our program moving into the winter months. We are planning on being at this location at least through the winter. Lunch will be served at the same time from 12:30-1:30pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We hope to see you there!

To-go lunch for Lake City Seniors Meal Program.

June 17th, 2020

Governor Inslee has created a “Safe Start Plan” with 4 phases. As of June 16th, King County is in Phase 1.5 and has applied for the 2nd phase. Phase 1.5 allows for hair salons, restaurant, and retail shops to open at limited capacity. To find more information, please go to https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/safe-start.aspx.  Lake City Seniors will continue to update you as the phases progress for King County. Phase 1.5 does not affect our services and we will continue to operate as we have been.

During this time, essential programs will continue—more information about services below. We are still practicing social distancing measures, using gloves, wearing masks and will continue to follow these guidelines. King County has issued directives to wear facial coverings at any indoor or outdoor public space where you may be within 6 feet of someone who does not live with you. Please wear a facial covering if you are picking up your lunch at the Lake City Community Center. We will provide one if you do not have one.

Lake City Seniors shares your concerns about the rapidly evolving and expanding global novel coronavirus (COVID-19). At this time, there are no cases of COVID-19 at Lake City Seniors, nor any staff with symptoms. Thank you for all those who have reached out- we love to hear from you via phone call and email. We will be updating you as we know more information.
