Her Janufairy Godmother.

Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a relaxing holiday break.

In case you missed it, in November we said goodbye to our social worker, Samaa. She has decided to depart Lake City Seniors to pursue her own private practice. We are in the process of hiring a new social worker and hope to have one within the coming weeks.

John is back from parental leave! Tech help will resume regular hours starting Monday, January 6th. To schedule an appointment with John, please give him a call at (206) 268-6741

A reminder that we will be closed on Monday, January 20th for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. There will also be no lunch that day so please plan accordingly.

Here’s a look at the exciting programming we have going on this month:

  • Join Silver Screeners for popcorn and a movie followed by a discussion with a volunteer from Scarecrow Video. This month’s movie will be the Holdovers on Monday, January 13th at 1:30pm. The Holdovers is about a curmudgeonly instructor at a New England school who remains on campus during Christmas break. He soon forms an unlikely bond with a brainy but damaged troublemaker, and with the school’s cook, a woman who just lost a son in the Vietnam War.
  • On Wednesday, January 22nd at 1:30pm the Pro Bono Council will be out to answer legal planning questions. This presentation will cover the standard advanced legal planning documents that everyone should have in place and Information on how to connect with an attorney for free though our program for legal help completing power of attorney and advance directive documents. No appointment is required.
  • The Pro Bono Council will be back on Wednesday, February 19th for one-on-one legal planning. At the Legal Planning clinic, you can connect with an attorney for free for legal help completing power of attorney and advance directive documents. An appointment is required. Call (425) 780-5589 to schedule your appointment.
  • We will hold our annual Lunar New Year Celebration during lunch on January 29th with a special meal and decorations.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the program! For more information on our programming, calendar, and lunch menu, please follow the links to the right of the page.
