John is taking parental leave this month. He will be providing tech help until Friday November 8th. Starting Wednesday, November 13th Tech Help will be provided by a volunteer and will have reduced hours. We will update the Calendar when we have exact dates and times that Tech Help will be provided. John will be back on Monday, January 6th.
A reminder that we have two holidays this month. We will be closed on Monday, November 11th for Veterans Day and Friday, November 29th for Thanksgiving Weekend and will not hold any programming on those days. There will also be no meals served so please plan accordingly.
Here’s some program highlight for Lake City Seniors this month:
- Join Silver Screeners for popcorn and a movie followed by a discussion with a volunteer from Scarecrow Video. This month’s movie will be One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest on Monday, November 18th at 1:30pm. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is about a Korean War veteran and criminal who pleads insanity and is admitted to a mental institution, where he rallies up the scared patients against the tyrannical nurse.
- On Monday November 4th starting at 12:30pm we will hold our annual Day of the Dead celebration with Pan de Muertos and a live mariachi band playing during and after lunch!
- The Dementia Action Collaborative will be holding a Legal Planning Clinic on Monday, November 4th by appointment. At this clinic you can get free one on one help with an attorney for legal matters such as Powers of Attorney for Finances, Powers of Attorney for Health Care, Health Care Directives, and Dementia Directives. To make an appointment please contact Jill at 425-780-5589. Space is limited and an appointment is required.
- John will hold his last tech class of the year on Friday, November 8th at 10am called Understanding your Internet and Phone Bills.
- We will have Humana visit Monday, November 25th at 1:30pm to discuss how to protect yourself from scams. They will cover common types of scams that you might come across and how to identify them and navigate them safely.
