March 2023 Update

Can you believe it’s already March? It seems like the year is already flying by. This month we have some new updates to the center.

We want to hear from you! You are what makes the Lake City Senior Center what it is, and we want to do whatever we can to meet your needs better. To help us achieve this, we’ve created a short survey to ask you for your input on our program. It shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes to fill out. You can take it here or by following the link below.

We are implementing a new sign-in policy. We ask that everyone who enters the building sign-in at the front desk as well as signing in for any class you may be participating in. We want to thank you for your patience as we implement this extra step to help keep Lake City Seniors a safe place for all.

If you would like to receive text alerts to be notified when our center is closed, please call 206-268-6740 and leave a message with your name and phone number. We will send notifications only in the event of a closure.

We also have a bunch of fun and educational programming to highlight for you this month.

  • On March 6th, we’ll have Adrienne Bousquet out for a workshop on how to downsize your home. Adrienne Bousquet is a home organizer and owns Spruce, a business dedicated to unique residential services. During this free workshop, she’ll be diving into stories and details surrounding the life transitions that seniors face and how their “stuff” plays into it. Join in to talk about downsizing, staying organized, and the legacy of your treasured belongings.”
  • This month John will be starting new computer 101 classes where he will explain the basics on how to safely use a computer. Computer Basics 101 will be held on Friday March 10th at 10am. Computer safety 101 will be held Friday March 24th at 10am.
  • On March 20th at 1:30pm we will have Dockside Cannabis out to lead a Medical Marijuana class where they will discuss cannabis in Washington State, cannabinoids – including CBD, medical marijuana, and products in the regulated marketplace. Join us for a fun and educational discussion!

As always there are more exciting activities happening at the center. Please check the calendar to the right to see everything we have planned for the month of March. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Justin by calling 206-707-1865 or by emailing him at justinf@soundgenerations.org. We look forward to seeing you at the center!
