Fitness Classes
Lake City Seniors offers several weekly fitness classes such as Tai Chi, Gentle Chair Yoga, and Latin Dance and several series like Matter of Balance, Tomando Control de su Salud and EnhancesFitness. Lake City Seniors recognizes the importance of staying active ad strives to provide fitness classes for all levels for older adults.
Zumba (NEW!)
In partnership with with UHeights Center
Join our community of movers and get ready to shake the day off with an upbeat, low-impact workout taught by Sellyna Ehlers! Our classes are open to all ages and abilities. Check out our upcoming classes here! Experience not required.

Tai Chi
This class is structured for older adults using slow fluid movements and breathwork to improve balance and leg strength. The class is taught by Daniel L. Atschuler, EAMP (LAC), PHD Acupuncture and Herbalist. He is a licensed East Asian Medicine Practioner. Classes are offered in English and Chinese.

Latin Dance Class
Join Cindy as she teaches Latin Dance Class. This class is high intensity and does involve participants to be on their feet for about 1 hour. All levels are welcome! This class is now in-person.

Rock N’ Roll Aerobics
Get in shape and have fun with an upbeat fitness class to rock ‘n roll music that will get your heart rate up and improve your stamina and flexibility. Class includes stretching, isolations and some popular dance moves. Plus you can sing along to your favorite songs. This class is a high intensity class.

Tomando Control de su Salud
Un taller GRATUITO para adultos con cualquier tipo de enfermedad crónica como Diabetes, Alta Presión y Asma. Usted puede aprender técnicas que le ayudarán a controlar su condición crónica y llevar una vida más saludable. Sesiones de 2 ½ horas, una vez a la semana durante seis semanas. This class is only open to Spanish speakers.

EnhanceFitness
EnhanceFitness, provided by Seattle Parks Lifelong Recreation, is an award winning class designed specifically for older adults with an emphasis on strength, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular exercise. We currently are not offering EnhancedFitness but are looking forward to providing classes again in 2022.

Matter of Balance
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. In this class you will learn how to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
