North Seattle COVID-19 Update 3/5/2020

After much consultation, and in consideration of Public Health guidelines related to reducing the spread of COVID-19, as well as to ensure everyone’s safety and health, we have decided to cancel all of our non-essential programs at Lake City Community Center as of Monday March 9th for the duration of March, or until further notice.

For the time being we will keep our doors open for minimal social services provision as well as to-go meals, but no group lunch or group classes, workshops, etc. will be held.

Book-It Repertory Theater Presents Ada’s Violin: The Story of the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay

After a successful 2017 fall tour, Ada’s Violin returns for an encore Summer Tour.  Don’t miss it, August 13th at the Lake City Community Center. 11am-12pm.

This story by Susan Hood is an extraordinary true tale of the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay, an orchestra made up of children playing instruments built from recycled trash. Ada Ríos dreams of playing the violin, but only until a music teacher named Favio Chávez arrives does she fulfill her dreams.

The show is performed in English and Spanish and runs 35-40 minutes.  Admission is free.
