International Women’s Day Meal & Panel Discussion
Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) and Sound Generations are partnering together to bring you a special meal on Wednesday, March 7th as part of our Lake City Senior Days celebrating International Women’s Day. The lunch will be followed by a panel discussion with local women leaders in the food systems. Panelists will include Kristi Drake, Co-Owner of the famous Le Panier Bakery; Esther Magasis, Food Bank Manager with Jewish Family Service; and Susan Lee, Director ECE Operations and Volunteer Service at Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA).
Thank You Councilmember Debora Juarez
We would like to recognize and express our gratitude to Councilmember Debora Juarez for her commitment to expanding senior programs in Northeast Seattle.
This past November, she successfully advocated for the City Council to provide an additional $60,000 in the 2018 budget to support Sound Generations’ Lake City-Northgate Senior Center Project.
This money allows us to provide much needed social work services. It will also help us to expand our “senior center without walls” to the Northgate neighborhood and add a third day of services at the Lake City Community Center.
Thank you Councilmember Juarez for being a true advocate for seniors!
